if problems with cell adhesion under flow occur, please make sure that:
1. The applied shear stress is not too high --> reduce overall shear stress settings or use a ramped program, starting with low shear stress and gradually increasing it.
2. An optimal protein coating is used --> depending on the cell type collagen, fibronectin, or other protein coatings might be required. Please also search for advice in current literature.
3. Cells are cultured under optimal conditions before flow is applied --> cell density and time in culture, as well as the frequency of media changes can influence the strength of cell-substrate and cell-cell attachment.

Tina Freisinger Thank you. I cannot reduce the applied shear stress as it is integral to my work. I have also used a ramped program. However , I will look into your other suggestions.
