We buy whatever is cheapest. It all melts fine in the chaotropic reagents used in the gel purification kits.

This actually depends on the purpose of the PCR. Is it to study the expression? or for example to check the size of the bands like in SSR.

We use 2% agarose gel electrophoresis in TBE buffer to check PCR products of different sizes ranging from 90 bps up to 350 bps. Our brand does not dissolve well and we can not get rid of some filamentous contaminants even after boiling for an extended period of time. Thank you for your answers, it is appreciated.
