In 1986, André Deutsch Ltd. (London) published the short novel On Foreign Ground by 'Eduardo Quiroga'. I am intrigued by the fact that this book about the Argentine Military Junta and, in particular, the Falklands War was apparently only ever published in English although the author's name suggests that he is Spanish-speaking. The novel's narrator is Argentine. A number of questions arise:

There is absolutely no trace of a Spanish version of the novel, I can assure you that. Actually, I think that it's never been published in Spanish (certainly, there is no trace of an edition in Spain -I checked the national ISBN database- and I found nothing in Argentina).
That means that maybe it was originally written in English or, at least, first published in English (maybe it was written in Spanish and translated by the editorial or properly revised by a native).
About the real identity of the author, I can't help you, sorry. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the book says in the back cover that it's the pseudonym of an Argentinian refugee (or something like that), but that might be part of the fiction too.
