In 1986, André Deutsch Ltd. (London) published the short novel On Foreign Ground by 'Eduardo Quiroga'. I am intrigued by the fact that this book about the Argentine Military Junta and, in particular, the Falklands War was apparently only ever published in English although the author's name suggests that he is Spanish-speaking. The novel's narrator is Argentine. A number of questions arise:

  • Who is 'Eduardo Quiroga'?
  • Was the novel originally written in English?
  • If not, is there a trace of the original Spanish version?
  • Any pointers or suggestions would be welcome.
