Please answer this question without the use of scientific definitions (don't use WHO or UN or... definitions). I want to know who is elderly in your mind and what criteria you use to identify the elderly people?
"Elderly" seems like a relative term, so that the lower age limit for it, in my mind, to define elderly, goes up as my age goes up. :-) It seems to imply someone who may not be completely capable, especially if we forget that experience, well analyzed, can be a very positive asset. But most of us perhaps do not enjoy the prospect of having less ahead of us than what is behind us. However, perhaps that varies substantially by society. I would think it a very well-adjusted person, and/or it would require very positive societal influences, to counter such a dismal assessment.
Perhaps I misunderstood your question, but those were just a few thoughts.
