We recently registered some cases of low cardiac output in the graft also after short ischemic time, less then 3 hours. Some of them needed ECMO support for some days since a total recovery was evident. My feeling is that hypersodiemic donors are more prone to this problems, probably for an interaction with Custodiol cardiologia that is no able to preserve the graft as in other patients. Anyone registered the same problems?
As you know, primary graft dysfunction is multifactorial after heart transplantation. We notice that it does not have relation to myocardial preservation most of the times. Frequently tough, it is frequently implicated as the culprit by some when we try to explain an outcome like these you have.
