Vegetation loss or forest degradation on hill tracts is one of the vital issues behind landslide on hilly area. To prevent man made degradation of forest, it is essential to monitor forest area numerically. For simultaneous monitoring, there is no alternative using Remote Sensing (to collect essential data). here my enquiry is, which kind of data collection method would be much effective? & what would be the best method to collect Remotely Sensed data? It is allusive, to suggest proper satellite like LANDSAT with MS/TM/ETM and the process of that data collection

You can use Sentinel 2 (10/20m) MSI data effectively to achieve your objective. If you are interested in historic trends then go for Landsat.
I think you need to perform a spatiotemopral phenology analysis. The NDVI trend analysis may be a simple and effective starting point of your studies.
For this you may need all satellite passes in a year. Now a day, we can do this type of analysis more effectively by taking advantage of Google earth engine.
