Hi,

I need to download Sun shine (sun hour) from CMIP5 dataset. This value is registered in synoptic station with name of Sun shine.  I've studied the standard_output_15Aug2013.1.pdf and I understood that: There are many different kind of radiations such as:

1-Surface Downwelling Shortwave Radiation (rsds),

2-Surface Downwelling Clear-Sky Shortwave Radiation (rsdscs),

3-TOA Incident Shortwave Radiation, and etc.,

So, I think the Surface Downwelling Shortwave Radiation (rsds) is equivalent with Sun shine, am I right? Do you think it is correct that I say the rsds = Sun shine.

I know that the unit of these value are different from each other, the unit of sun shine is hour, but the rsds is Wm-2.

Thank you,

Nasrin
