Ceriops tagal – Suited for higher delta zones, good for reclamation.
Xylocarpus granatum – Grows in upper tidal areas, slow-growing.
Nypa fruticans – Thrives in brackish deltaic zones.
Excoecaria agallocha – Common in riverine deltas, mildly toxic.
A mixed-species plantation is best for resilience and ecosystem health.
Mangroves are peculiar group of plants which grow in estuarine regions only. Influx of salinity, ratios in soil particles play a crucial role in growth and development of mangroves.
