Dear colleagues,

currently, I am working on a systematic review. For our review question, we will have to include non-randomized ("observational") studies that do not investigate interventions, but that merely compare two groups (patients vs. healthy controls).

What tool would you recommend for assessing the risk of bias in these studies?

Would it be reasonable to still use the ROBINS-I tool or would it be more appropriate to use the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) or some completely different tool?

Thank you and all the best,

Maurice Ohren
