I am interested in studying the experiences and motivations for philanthropy in Kenya by HNWIs. However, I would like my research questions to be grounded from gaps in theory and empirical research in philanthropy and social entrepreneurship. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Research on social entrepreneurship is still in development, thus there is a considerable room to explore. For example, the specific definition and measurements of social entrepreneurship are still missing, and the determinants of opportunity recognition, motivation, and intention to be social entrepreneur can be investigated by combined theories in this area. In addition, comparative analysis between different type of organizations (hybrid organisations, and ‘non-profit organisations) is considered as a potential research direction in the future.

many questions about sustainable entrepreneurship have already been answered for industrialised countries, but not for developing countries. Terán-Yépez et al. (Article Sustainable entrepreneurship: Review of its evolution and new trends
) provides a very up-to-date overview of research on sustainable entrepreneurship and argues that more research is needed on developing countries. This could be a good starting point.Greetings
