Hi everyone, my senior recently doing sediment logging. Her SV said that sedlog produce an ugly graphic and wanted a nice log graphic as below one. Can anyone tell me which software can produce sediment logs as "beautiful" as the one in the picture? Thank you and I really appreciate your answer.

Most of my colleagues use Adobe Illustrator. If you want to plot data with the logs then I think Grapher is the best. They are not free though. For free software, I would recommend Inkscape with the same functionalities as Illustrator.
The classical professional choice for this type of diagrammatic representation is Adobe Illustrator. However, it is quite costly. There are web based solutions like Canva or Gravit Designer. There is also Coral Draw. A free possibility is Inksacpe. I would highly recommend Affinity Designer, however. Not free but dirt cheap, absolutely professional and in no way inferior to Illustrator (also part of a software trio – Affinity by Serif – that answers all graphic publishing needs). None of the above-mentioned packages generate diagrams directly out of data. However, results from Grapher et al. can be imported and graphically refined.
Nice contributions from Alexander Luckow and Sabine Kerstin Lengger . I will like to add that Strata 5 is an easy to use software, not too costly. Again, if you don't like the output (even though it come out way better than that of sedlog), you can still import in into graphical software to do your final modifications to improve the outlook.
