Ansys is more used in industries and Abaqus is more used in academics. Both have their own positive and negative points. Each software is useful. The solving techniques are a bit different. But, I will suggest for modelling RC, it's better to go for SAP, or Etabs, or Opensees. Nowadays, people are using Perform 3D exclusively for the non-linear modelling of RC structures. For masonry, you may use Abaqus for modelling at the component level. But for complete structural analysis, you need to use the TREMURI programme or Equivalent frame modelling using SAP software.
I am using Etabs software for masonry infill wall model so after giving the hinge in infill wall , do i have to give the compression limit to the member ? if i have to give the compression limit then how to find compression limit value , what is the procedure or formula
