I am searching for a mouse reporter strain that can be used for live imaging of pancreatic neurons in explant culture of the whole organ from embryos. Preferably it should be in the infrared range, as I need to combine it with a GFP reporter. The reporter should be bright enough for live imaging and visualize the whole neuron, so with cytoplasmic localization of the fluoroscent protein.
Early pancreatic neurons express high levels of GAP43, but the reporter mouse for GAP43 that I found is with GFP.

Hi Pia,
Hope you find exactly what you want, but if I were you I'd consider getting my reporter in the infrared rather than searching for mice expressing neuron-specific infrared fluorophores. I don't know what your reporter is but if it is not so complicated it will simplify your life in the longterm.
