Infections with several germs, which are building a biofilm, are often insensitive against antibiotics. I am looking for herbs, which may be able to disintegrate biofilms like ACC.
The infection occurs as borreliosis and its co-infections in human. The co-infections are chlamydia pneumoniae, chlamydia trachomatis, erlichiae, toxoplasma, mycoplasma pneumoniae and yersiniae. Because an antibiosis about the time of two year with different drugs and a high dosage was not effective, the germs may be encapsulated or detracted of the treatment. The theory is, that the germ had build up a biofilm. I have no real conception of the place in the body, but it may be in the mucosa of the inner organs, the mouth (teeth) or between the sinews or soft tissue.
Meanwhile I tried some herbs, which I selected of the Materia Medica of Chinese Medicin and I think that the herb are usable to destroy a biofilm.
The herbs are a mixture of rhemanniae radix preparata, gynostemma pentphyli herba, tropaeoli maj. herba and andrographis paniculata.
If you have informations about other herbs, which may destroy a biofilm, I am glad to hear about it.
sorry, Ulmus rubra (Slippery Elm) and Hyssopus officinalis (Hyssop) , many meanings for "ACC" depending on your discipline....could you be more specific...are we talking about accumulation on access ports, or a byproduct of an enterococcus species or Pseudomonas species or some other species...or specific expressions...? where is the colonization taking place?...human infections?...associated with a specific disease state? .....where is the biofilm accumulation...internal...oral...external....is there a medical device involved...cath....sten...artificial replacement? do we need to keep the original surface intact ? is the original surface vasculated or ...say for example.. is the site of infection in the ear?

Xylitol and lactoferrin can act as a biofilm disturber. Olive leaves extract can also work. Aspirin also disturbs Biofilm. Sometimes enzymes like Nattokinase.
