Which one is better to determine phenolic compound inside the dragon fruit peel either use QTOF or QTRAP? ESI QTRAP is normal resolution but with ion trapping for better spectrum intensity. ESI QTOF, if loook at parent mass only also not good because high resolution mass without msms cannot be confirmative

QTOF and QTRAP MS instruments have different capabilities, but both allow you to do screen phenolic compounds and confirm their structure by MSMS. QTOF has the advantage of higher resolution and QTRAP has the advantage of allowing targeted screening which may be helpful for phenolic compound screening.

Both are more or less same. Genrally QTOF get good for isolation work.
Are you trying to do quantitative work or qualitative work? Are the concentrations near the limit of detection for these types of instrument? The answer really depends on what you are trying to do. I'm not very familiar with a QTRAP, but have a QTOF in the lab, and will soon have an Orbitrap (I assume this is not what you're talking about). A QTOF can in fact produce both accurate mass parent and fragmentation spectra, so I'm not sure what you meant about it not producing MSMS spectra.
If you need quantitation better are QTrap or QqQ, if you need identification QTOF is better

Thanks answer for this question. Do you have any related article that mentioned QTOF is better for identification?in my case, i just study identification of phenolic compound instead of quantitation
QTOF primarily used for identification of unknown compounds with NOT great sensitivity, while QTRAP is great for targeted trace analysis (Quantitation)
