All the software are fine and serve some different and many common purposes. R, STATA, EViews, SPSS all give good options for analysis and output presentation. R and Stata are very good and popular . EViews is time series specialist software but it can also handle cross sectional and panel data.
It depends on your expertise/experience with the programs you listed. R, for example is very powerful for both, data analysis and graphical presentation. There is a huge community and the program is free, but you need experience in programming. SPSS is a "click and point" program, which is intuitive and good for the beginners, but you have to bay it. I dont have any experiences with STATA, Eviews and Gretl.
R, SPSS & STATA are the three widely used statistical software. I use R & SPSS. Like Pavlo mentioned, SPSS is quite convenient for beginners while R has greater application for statistics/graphics and computing in general, but requires a good knowledge of R commands and syntax.

It depends on your budget, purpose and skillset. If you are on a tight budget and are willing to learn enough to complete your task, then I recommend R.
