The modeling of reinforced concrete plane frame is developed in OpenSees for collapse analysis. Elastic beam column element for beam and columns and the Join2D element for the RC beam-column joint are used using lumped-plasticity approach (Liel, A. B and Deirelein, G. G 2008). I have some issues for selecting material models and appropriate modeling parameters required for Joint2D element. When Modified Ibarra-Medina-Krawinkler Deterioration Model with Bilinear Hysteretic Response (Bilin Material developed by Ibarra, Medina, and Krawinkler 2005) is used to model joint2D elements developed by Altoontash 2004, I got unusual results.

Next, the modeling parameters for the bilinear materials for RC elements created based on the equations given in PEER Report 2007/08 titled with Assessing Seismic Collapse Safety of Modern Reinforced Concrete Moment-Frame Buildings by Curt B. Haselton, Gregory G. Deirelein. When I used these equations and used for bilinear material, I am unable to get the desired results for both pushover analysis and moment curvature response. Either I am using wrong material models, in appropriate parameters, or missing something in my model.

Please advice me how I can model RC beam column joint using Joint2D element using with Ibarra, Medina, and Krawinkler (2005) material model or by other material models. Please advice me selecting appropriate material parameters that can provide reasonable response.
