I provide our recent paper which helps you to make a decision as to which method is relatively greener. See another paper where you can use tea bag to make Ag nano!
I suggest some preparation methods without the chemical reduction of Ag+ ions, such as the UV irradiation of a silver ion solution or the laser ablation of a silver target in water. In these ways stable aqueous colloidal suspensions of small silver nanoparticles are obtained, without introducing chemical reagents or stabilizers.
Silver nano particle is the easiest to be synthesized compared to any other metals. The best method depends on the application of silver nano particles you are looking for.
1. Ball milling for pure silver nano particles. But size distribution will not be uniform. You can not use for pharmaceutical applications. You can use in Ayurveda, though.
2. Colloidal precipitation gives you uniform sized particles, applicable in pharmaceutical application.
3. Calcination : To get the pure silver out of impurities
