I am interested to work on a project titled parametric optimization of electric discharge machining of AlSiCp metal matrix metal. I am going to prepare AlSiCp MMC for machining experiment. I required to define different research objectives, methodologies for that. Which may be the further objectives in the project of the parametric optimization of AlSiCp metal matrix metal ? Kindly suggest me if anybody have any idea or suggestion.
you can take percentage of sic as one parameter, particle size of sic other parameter. You can use some machine parameters of EDM. The values you can change on edm can also be taken as influencing parameters. By using design of experiments and anova you can optimise these values.
First dominating parameter can be variation in the particle sizes of AlSiCp (starting from micro range and going for nano range) then second important parameter can be different weight percentage of added particles. Then other parameters is to vary the stirring speed while preparing the MMC. Select different electrode materials and even different shapes under EDM. You can vary the parameters of EDM, only those which significantly affects the machining performance.
You can go by synthesizing nano-composites with it. Also you can change the synthesizing route. Another is, you can take some other reinforcement or matrix.phase and concluded by comparing.
