Unlike farm organic wastes, which digestate can directly been deposited on land, big municipal organic waste biodigestion plants can produce important amounts of digestate without a close land for its depositon. Therefore a concentration of the solid content of digestate is key to its utilization as fertilizer. A clasic way is to separate liquid and solid fractrion of digestate. The solid can be composted but the liquid need to be treated to take organic matter and nutrients out. As I understand, active-aerobic sludge reactors are used, and then the sludge can again be anaerobically digested, but then nutrients must be removed from remaining water if the water wanted to be used.

What is the best (economically) process for water treatment when nutrients are wanted to be recovered?
