I have researched counter electrode for DSSC application for several months, which is the best carbon material for counter electrode in DSSC?
Carbonaceous materials have been reported to have low catalytic activity as a result of poor diffusion of the redox species among other factors. CVD graphene is not a good CE but i have observed that graphene nano sheets with high defect density re good CEs. You can thus try functionalized graphene. Graphene-metal contacts such as Pt?Gr also show enhanced catalytic activity. I hope this helps you
You can use Carbon paper or MWCNT paper as an electrode material. That will really work well.
Graphite is used a an electrochemical electrode since long time.
Now a days, graphite is no longer used. Previously graphite was the electrode of choice.
