In our lab, we are working on a herbal extraction optimation so that we need to understand the total profile difference between optimized and unoptimized extraction. Which that we have multiple confusions in terms of instrument choosing, whether we need to go with TQMSMS or qToF or FT-ICR-MS or ESI/EI/EDI/MRM or any sample preparation protocol.

i think the suitable technique must be a separation hyphenated to an identification technique such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-NMR ,etc..

LC-QTOF-ESI-MS/MSn. Separation of individual peaks are very much important to get accurate. Apart from that LC- Orbitrap- HRMS is also a good option. MS/MS Fragmentation should be done in both ionisation mode with optimised collision energy.
