The selection of the appropriate "plant location" is considered as the strategic decision for any organisation. There are many primary and secondary factors, which affect the decision of "plant location". The general factors may be same, but specific factors may vary depending on the nature of business. For example the specific factors may vary for different manufacturing plants for example: automobiles, textile, pharma, steel etc. There may be so many basis also includeing the nature of business.
In this context, please answer the question and suggest either the general or specific (i.e automobile plant, pharma plant, steel plant, garments plant etc.) factors.

Plant location will depend upon location of source of raw materials as also points of consumption of finished products, While deciding one has to look into the logistics cost of movement of raw material and finished cost. Availability of skilled manpower, transportation facilities, self life of products etc may be some of the factors to be considered.
