I'm graduate school student, and my research area is long range propagation

Recently I study about DoA estimation and I want to use MUlti SIgnal Classification(MUSIC). I read some papers(not all the papers), some papers use time domain, but others use frequency domain to make covariance matrix.

I wonder what is difference in using time domain and frequency domain in MUSIC algorithm. I welcome all comments
