Both are interesting for me!! I like to teach and educate students and transfer  the knowledge that I have learned to them ; at the same time I really like investigating new topics in my field and add my contribution to science.

I will say both because being involved in research helps to upgrade your knowledge with state of art which is crucial to the growth of a subject

Teaching is habit and pashion, while research support it. So both teaching and research for me are a must.

I love and I am actively engrossed in both teaching and research because the two are close allies that brings transformation to the world and its citizens.

Why do I teach? It is because I am dedicated to shaping the thoughts, views of learners through expert guidance so that they can use the content and practical knowledge in my field for the development of themselves and more importantly, their societies. Eventually, my teaching would change the lot of the larger members of the society. This is a great source of joy and pride to me.

Why do I engage in research? I do so because I know as a scholar, my core duty is to solve the problems and challenges that individuals, institutions, associations and communities face to better or improve their living, working or personal conditions. I am very elated  the aid I provide via my research projects results in great development of societies and individuals.

It is in truism that a trusted colleague recently summed my life by three things:

1. Researching

2. Teaching (Secular and Religious)

3. Family Life

I would say both. First, I love to research. But, since researching has become in a 'publish or perish' issue, I feel more comfortable doing my best with my students. If you can achieve to carry out the research that you want, then this research could improve your teaching. 

Teaching and research are interrelated in many ways. Teaching and learning suppose to ignite passion for research in a serious minded researcher. As a teacher/researcher, I would say both are important to me. Researching without teaching is incomplete as a researcher and also teaching without any research findings makes it boring and monotonous. If you work in a research institute, you may not be able to teach like your colleagues in the academic environment but if you are in the academic institution in any level, you have the privilege of functioning in both teaching and research.

Both of them. Teaching is a tool for communication with young people and is a  way to find eager student for research.

At the University Level its good to be involved with research even if you can not find or propose new ideas because in the process of search for that you become wiser surely.

Both are complementary because each activates important capacities for persons.

Teaching urges teachers to search for the most updated information related to a specific field of study. Thus, teaching and searching or writing academic research are complementary.

I prefer research, because it is difficult to give a class nowadays. Nevertheless, of you give classes to a M.Sc or a Ph.D. student, as a researcher you may adore it, cause the class in that level looks like a scientific discussion.

Good research background helps a teacher to update the knowledge of the students.

     In general, the effort in teaching may be produce better research. Also, some of the best researchers are also excellent teachers ,but some  studies reported  that the relationship between teaching and research is zero .At universities, it's necessary to enhance  the  link between teaching and research   to be more strength. One of the major  challenges facing university scholar  is how to be a good teacher and good researcher in the same time. In my opinion, both jobs have the same importance

I prefer both teaching  and research  because  you learn more by involving  in the two.

I believe my true enthusiasm and strength is teaching, and I love research too.

I think the question of the relationships between teaching and research activities is quite practical, theoretical, contextual, conceptual, and even very spiritual indeed. The crux of the matter is that the two are intertwined or can be said ti be mutually inclusive as much as practicable.

For example, a good or an effective teacher should be well informed at a personal level and must always strive for self development through self learning which includes research (an attempt to discover more information an issue or a subject in question), practice, trail and error efforts, or do it yourself performance.

In in order to acquire more knowledge, skills, information, or insight into any issue, it is important that we look for more information (research) so as to be better or more informed or aware of the issue at end. Almost everyone is a teacher from the technical point of view,

The argument is that teaching can be formal, informal, or non-formal involving normal accredited educational curriculum or institutions of learning to families or households, peers, and the mass media or any type.

In this case, professional teacher should be informed by research and teachers need to be researchers as well. In particular, action research is vital or imperative for professional teachers as a whole. In is interesting that good teaching even if one is teaching from the Holy Books of God, one must first read the relevant literature review for evidence based teaching.

There are different forms or types of research which can be done without extra costs for one hour, a day, a week, a month, or more, depending on the need or the depth of the work and resources for doing the research.

Action research is good for teachers and all the professional practitioners like medical doctors, nurses, engineers, journalists, farmers, drivers, managers, politicians, preachers, coaches, and even sex workers.

Research provides contents for teaching and teaching provides raw materials for research.

In other words, all teaching curricula, policies, programmes, lessons, or activities are subjects or research issues as well as teaching issues. At the same time, research outputs are to be disseminated through the right media and for the right audience. This could translate into teaching curriculum or programmes as well as policies.

I think Michel Foucault, through his courses at the College de France, is a starting point for this discussion and can provide an example in this regard. Research and Teaching are complementary dimensions of scientific knowledge.
