Dear all,

I would like to assess by histology the degree of vascularisation that occurs on a mouse bone after the local administration of a certain compound. I've thought to administer a contrast agent intravenously prior to the sacrifice, but with the following conditions:

- No perfusion of the whole animal

- The contrast agent has to survive the fixation, two weeks EDTA decalcification and paraffin embedding

- The contrast agent should not leak from the blood vessels

I read that fluorescent dextran could be an option, but that it will end up leaking from the vessels, and I doubt that fluorescence will be still detectable. Could you propose any other fluorescent or non-fluorescent alternatives?

Thank you very much
