To the better of my knwoledge, I think there is no special difficulty with Dunaliella (e.g. there is no special barrier to break the cells, nor any complex polysaccharide or similar substances that might interfere with DNA isolation). There are one or two papers reporting DNA extraction specifically from Dunaliella.
