I read a lot of books outside of field biology which is my main interest in reading.
I like true crime books in particular. One of the most exciting books I read recently was:
McHugh, E. (2012). Bushrangers. Penguin Books, Melbourne (316 pages).
Another interesting book of world-wide interest that I have read and provided a book review for at researchgate is
Preston, D. (2017). Lost City of the Monkey God. Head of Zeus, London (328 pages).
The life of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza by Miguel de Unamuno published in 1915, a different and witty lecture of Cervantes' masterpiece.
My latest popular scientific book which I recently read has been:
Kaku, M. (2011). Physics of the Future. Anchor Books New York: 1-452. Lots of predictions but very few will occur in 50 years until costs can be reduced, e.g. intelligent robots!.
Latest crime book I have read is:
Shaw, I.W. (2018). Murder at Dusk: How US soldier and smiling psychopath Eddie Leonski terrorised wartime Melbourne. Hachette, Australia. 1-320.
Leonski was a real dangerous lunatic. He swung in Melbourne for his crimes.
Latest biology book I have read is a fascinating book on sharks:
Reid, R. (2010). Shark! Killer tales from the dangerous depths. Allen & Unwin, Sydney. 350 pages.
I finished reading 2 books very recently:
1. The strict liability principle and the human rights of athletes in doping cases/ by Janwillem Soek.
2. Drugs and doping in sport: socio-legal perspectives/ by John O'Leary.
I recently read this book:
Veron, J.E.N. (2017). A Life Underwater. Viking, Penguin Books,
An autobiography of a great biologist in Australia who studied corals and states that the Great Barrier Reef off of Queensland is dying and Australian Governments are doing nothing or little about it. Veron has stated on radio that Australian politicians are mostly imbeciles when it comes to science and the environment!
Islamic Scientific Tradition of Alparslan Acikgenc piblished by IKIM in 2014.
I recently read this book about the missing airline MH 370: The story still isn't finished. The plane is about 5,000 km west of Western Australia in the Indian Ocean at over 5000 m deep.
