I have a product system in which the uncertainty is being assessed via semi-quantitative approach using the pedigree matrix. I considered the data quality parameters of foreground dataset and performed monte-carlo simulation runs to get the uncertainty range with 90% confidence interval. My doubt is: Whether both the foreground and background datasets are involved in monte-carlo simulations while performing uncertainty analysis in the openLCA software. Is it just the uncertainty in the foreground data which is displayed in the output while the background dataset remains constant?
