Solvent for oil sample dilution.?

Which solvent should be used to dilute plant oil samples extracted through hydrodistilation process. I used DMSO and Hexane solvent for dilution but oil sample got pricipitated in the Hexane and formed a separate layer in DMSO solvent

You need a solvent that is less polar than DMSO and more polar than hexane

Ethyl acetate would be suitable in my opinion.
