I am working on a project that involves analyzing the severity of influenza in United States. It would be helpful if I could find a dataset that has information about the number of people that have been affected by an influenza virus when it was an epidemic.
An example of such a dataset would be a swine flu dataset where it contains the number of people that have been affected by swine flu and the time period where the disease was considered to be an epidemic.
Helpful suggestions are welcome!
I would recommend you CDC flu activity (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm) and interactive tracking webpages (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/fluviewinteractive.htm). They provide information about current and past flu seasons with infographics about national, regional, and state level outpatient illness and viral surveillance.
