I am doing an experiment in wind resource assessment, basicallly I am trying to map long term wind speed patterns. I am validating the methods using cross-validation, because I do not have access to test sites.
The problem is I cannot compare all the algorithms present in literature for this type of assessment, therefore I am looking for articles in which such comparison was performed. I would like articles where they used RMSE to compare different methods, so that I can compare their validation with mine. If possible I am looking for studies in UK.

The wind data depends on the region or geographical location you are trying to project. Maybe taking a weather report of the wind speed of the location, you can now do a simulation to know the average wind speed of that region and do a graphical representation of the wind data and project it to the time which you desire.
