I am looking for information about the length, width (in mm and measured following the maximum length), and weigth (in mg) of pupa for as many species as possible of Diptera (mainly the forensic ones). These data should be measured 2-3 days after pupation.
Moreover I would like to know the ADD related to each species (if possible the ADD of the strain not this from the literature). Data should be given with their STD and number of measurements done, if possible.
In papers, it is not easy to find these all these measurements data linked to the specific ADD of the concerned strain/species. Data are often spread and not easy to be compared. Nevertheless I have found some that I can consider with confidences.
Among the species of my interest are : Calliphora vicina, Calliphora vomitoria, Lucilia sericata, Phormia regina, Protophormia terraenovae, Chrysomya albiceps, Chrysomya megacephala, Cynomya mortuorum, Cynomya cadaverina, Sarcophaga cultelata, Sarcophaga argyrostoma.
Other forensic diptera are welcome (like Piophila spp, Hemipyrelia spp., Chrysomya spp.,...)
Other data for other diptera are welcome too.
I will be glad if you would like to share any information (unpublished data will be treated with confidence) you have or references where I could found these.

The growth rate of these insects varies depending on the temperature and surrounding conditions, the cadaveric condition, if at all any drug or toxin or post blast residues was present on/in the dead body. Some drugs tend to hasten the growth rate of the insects while some tend to cease the growth( and may result in the death of the pupa/maggot/fly).

My main question is to obtain the data cited above (lenght, width, weight of pupa and the corresponding ADD for the strain measured, if possible), for species reared in normal and controlled condition, if possible.

Check Byrd & Castner - they have relevant figures for development at different temperatures cited from the original papers. Just remember the geographical differences that may exist between populations, and the importance of density - refer to original articles. For pupae on a day to day basis, little is published, but Kat Brown (Davies) has done one excellent work on C. Vicina external and internal development that should be published shortly.

I have unpublished data for length and weight of Chrysomya megacephala post-feeding larvae of the same age in relation to the time taken by these maggots to reach a pupation substrate of their choice in a circular arena in order to know their preference for pupation site in probable forensic situations in fruit and vegetable market. Please let me know if it useful for your study.

Due to the change in weight during the post-feeding satge to go to the pupa, I am not sure that I could use your data. But, of course if you have the weght of the pupa and the associated ADD of your strain, this are what I expect to collect :-)

Thanks for your nice question. The growth rate of insects varies depending on the temperature, relative humidity and many other factors. I have experience to work with stored product pest like Tribolium. Due to lacking of experience with these type insects I could not share any data with you. I am very keen to know the correct answer of your question

I do not have data of prepupa associated with ADD but ADD may be calculated considering the ambient temperature during the development period of this fly.

Indeed ADD could be calculated from the ambient temperature with a threshold used from the litterature, in first approach.
But I prefer the more precise data as possible and those corresponding to the pupal stage.
If you will have the opportunity to catch the data in the pupal stage (second or third days) for C megacephala, I will be glad to analyse these.
