Hello everyone. Where do you think I could easily get Pseudomonas aeruginosa from the environment? I used to easily culture Vibrio parahaemolyticus from different shellfish on Vibrio chromogenic agar previously. Anybody with experience on Pseudomonas aeruginosa?

My Ph.D teacher isolates p.aeruginosa from milk easily. she takes about 30 isolates from 55 milk sample. Maybe it will help you.

You can isolate it from skin wounds, or hospital /clinical environments. It is also present in polluted waters and soils.
Any damp environment is a lovely place for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Then try to isolate it on Pseudomonas Isolation Agar (PIA) plates. But you will have to make sure this is indeed P. aeruginosa, and the best way to do it is to sequence 16S cDNA. But I think if you want to use a P. aeruginosa strain, it will be easier for you to ask a laboratory strain (PAO1 or PA14 for example) to an expert lab.

It is very easy to isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa from multiple environments, I have previously isolated 144 strains of P. aeruginosa from different aquatic environments. you can isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa from water,waste water ,hospital environment , we can isolate P aeruginosa from sewage and tap water and study their resistance for ciprofloxacin in my paper (presence of qnr gene in environmental and clinical P aeruginosa isolate in Baghdad) found in reseachgate.net

Can you easily isolate pseudomonads from hospital outfuls.
P. aeruginosa causes infections such as in burn patients and urinary tract infections. Thus your local hospital could help you obtain some isolates.
you can get it from clinical sources ( UTI ,Wound and burn ,otitis media etc..) and environmental sources ( soil , hospital environment)

The bacterium would not be found in air in our two hospitals. The organism likes water. Anywhere there is standing water the bacterium might be isolated.
You can isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa for 100% from hydrocarbon contaminated soil...like near petrol pumps, oil industries, kitchen where you dump oils etc., as they are very good in using these as carbon source for their growth and hence helpful in degradation of the same.
