Coal Seam Gas (CSG) legacy 'inappropriately' de-commissioned or abandoned wells proliferate in south eastern Queensland. The majority of legacy well whereabouts are unknown. Do you know of, or can you help me locate them for risk assessment impacts on groundwater and aquifers purposes? Preferably in the vicinity of Dalby and surrounding areas. Many thanks
It sounds you have a big problem in that area. I would have thought that gas companies would not be allowed to operate since they dump more greenhouse gases into the air that causes more extreme weather events.
We had a similar problem in my area that escalated into multitude of disasters: Contamination of water supplies, subsidence of the ground, small earthquakes, etc
The location of wells is probably a secret, known only to the gas companies and regulatory agencies of the local government. If I was there I would contact politicians to see if they could support the farmers instead of the gas companies.
