Getting a paper rejected is of course frustrating, especially when the referees find little at fault with the work but simply do not like the content which may be far from their own interests. Sometimes it just requires one such negative response from a referee to lead to an editor rejecting a manuscript. Irritatingly, referees who respond in this manner usually fail to validate their negative evaluations. Faced with a situation where you may have multiple positive referee responses and one unsubstantiated negative report the urge is to challenge the editor if he/she rejects the manuscript. I'd like to hear opinions/views regarding the challenging of the editors in these cases.
