I am trying to measure the reduction weight of my material on nanoparticle fabricating experiment. The material was put in Deionized water during the process. When the process is done, the material would be taken out of deionized water. There are two things I am confused of,

a) Can I just directly measure the before-after weight of material?

b) If not, how can I exclude the deionized water weight since my material is iron string, heat could affect the material. By letting it dry, it takes too much time and could bring other factor to influence the measurement.

Thank you so much for your advice.
