Signal-to-noise quotient (SNQ) is often used to describe the appearances of an MRI but it is not clear to me exactly what the image viewer is measuring, I assume that the sequence that you are looking at will also influence this. Is there a known scale or units used? Thank-you
Please give us some more details: What software are you using? Does it specify the result explicitly as signal-to-noise quotient (as opposed to signal-to-noise ratio, SNR)? It is not really obvious how the "noise" level is estimated from a single (circular) region (one could use the standard deviation of the signal in this region, but this is certainly only a rough estimate of the noise level).

I am using a 3T MR examination utilising a validated protocol which included volumetric and a near isotropic (0.5 x 0.5 x 0.65mm) turbo spin echo sequences which allow multi-planar T2-weighted reconstructions along the ACLR.
I am measuring cross section SNQ within bone tunnels used for ACL reconstruction. I am finding that the reconstructed images are getting very high intra-tunnel readings (x10 higher) when compared to the sagittal measurements of the graft and am unsure why. I would like to quantify tunnel readings with intra-articular readings. See picture of different ROIs.
