Fear of the power of oil trusts and governments. Fear of climate change and munching away the future of our children by the exploitation and pollution.
Fear of the power of populism and the mass of irresponsible uneducated average Joe. The overlap with the group of people who have no retirement savings could be significant.
Fear of the tragedy of the commons (e.g. energy, clean air and livable climate).
Well, I have no fear , Tesla car (Elon Musk's company) is a reality .
There are electric bikes , I am glad people are getting back to health ways . Not taking elevator , going to organically grown food and awareness of green and blue bins (for organic waste and recycles) .
Government intrusion can only be endured for sometime
I worry about net neutrality is maintained and monopoly of brands !!!
Tesla car is not a solution. It does not answer any challenges of the environmental burdens. The sustainable energy production and storage are the real challenges, and an electric powered vehicle for the rich won't provide solution. As of today, Earth has not enough Lithium to provide batteries for households to run on PV systems; using Lithium in expensive toys is not a sustainable. For instance, replacing personal meetings by online meetings is way more helpful. Electric cars have been running for decades, electric vehicles (train, metro) have been running for more than century; Tesla is a marketing effort.
The nature of the exploitation that rich people can buy these toys relatively cheap, but as the Lithium stocks exploited, it will be expansive for others. This happened with the cheap Freon based fridges and the CO2 emission opportunity as well, developing countries cannot get the same lucky chance as the developed ones.
People are not getting back to a healthy way, the human consumption and exploitation of nature are increasing.
Please, see the Earth overshoot days. They are earlier and earlier.
1.Fear for more carbon di oxide emission by it's burning, more global warming.
2.Fear for more production of different types of plastics, more problem in waste management, more coverage of surface area of land, water bodies and sea by them.
The consumption of fossil fuels has a long history and there has always been a lot of talk about their possible harms or the likelihood of their depletion . My main fear in this particular case results from uncanny programs in the hands of some governments and international bodies allowing alarming extraction and unsafe use of fossil fuels totally ignoring the health and happiness of human beings across the world. The unbridled aftermath of such rush and often illogical policies has darkened the destiny of the existence more than ever before. Unless there is a return to the long forgotten issues of morality and ethical values, taking about dangers and fears will unfortunately be immaterial and ineffective. All countries need to return to the table of dialogue and negotiation resorting to what professor Wayne Dyer's calls spiritual approach where global cooperation must substitute aggressive competition among nations. President Trump's recent speech on global warming when he said, " they (other countries) are talking about global warming, while we are freezing here in America" symbolizes only a small example of unilateral policies and decisions threatening the future of the posterity.
Certainly. I fear for our need to put up stringent means in combating the high rate of carbon dioxide emissions which poses serious health problems, rising the mortality rates, especially on the African continent. Best regards
The main mistake of mankind is that it is trying to extract the maximum benefit from today, completely not caring about the future. The reason for this is Globalization. If this is the case, then all the talk about fears is completely useless. Then there is nothing left to do as to philosophically concern the further development of the event according to the well-known saying "Whatever will be will be". Thus, there is nothing to be afraid of, everything will happen by itself without our intervention.
