In DR5000, I selected program No120 colour 455nm and tested a water sample for colour. I get the result in minus (-3 Pt-Co units. What does this mean?
Dear Sathishkumar,
-3Pt-Co unit refers to Platinum-Cobalt Standard Method. For more on this topic, please see attached file (read the 4 pages on Cobalt).
Hoping this will be helpful,
Rafik
The measurement of water color using a chloro-Pt complex of Co (Hazen units, APHA units) was developed in XIX century to reflect the presence in water of humic substances of natural origine, its color being similar to the one of the Co compound.
Can anyone please tell me how to calculate the amount of 1 N NaOH required to raise the pH of water from 6 to 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 11.5. Thank you in advance for your kind response.
