Why does it becomes slimy?I initally diluted it to 30micro litre, then again i redissolved in 50, but its still slimy. I would like to go for PCR after the extraction process. Any suggestions to reduce the slimy nature of the sample would be of great help.

I recommend you to include additional chloroform; Isoamylalcohol (24:1) wash just before alcohol wash. If its still not working, its better to use membrane filter from DNA extraction kit in final step to get good quality DNA.
It normally helps to grind the plant material together with polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (preferentially with Polyclar AT, but other kinds work as well). Polyclar AT/PVPP binds polysaccharides and is insoluble, so it will go in the cell debris pellet with the polysaccharides and not be a nuisance during the rest of the extraction. Apart from that, I second the recommendation of repeating the extraction with chloroform.
