When I add iodine after incubating control for iodine binding assay there is dark blue precipitate?

A post doc used mops and her control is not affected. However that was 3 to 4 years ago. With mine after incubation at 30C and furthur the color changes, it seems to precipitate at the bottom. I have 5 different buffer but all seem to do the same. I'm wondering if amylose itself is at work here. Not sure. Any ideas?
