Some of the wheat stem sawfly infested barley stem, part of  inter-node, is full of liquid substance. As you can see in pictures. Some larvae are dead inside the inter-node, and some of them are still alive. What would be the reason behind it? Is there any way to explore plant response against wheat stem sawfly, Cephus cinctus? or just something else? Your suggestions/ comments are highly appreciated.
