Dear All,

Analyzing and designing a high rise structure (diagrid with a core) using etabs, the program detects the diagrid elements as "bracings".

Defining the cross sections of the elements, I'm wondering what would be the size limits proportionally? I'd appreciate if you could refer to references and international building codes.

For instance: I'd like to assign a 30x150cm cross section to the diagrid elements. Is the narrowness of them restricted according to structural engineering standards or etabs capabilities? Or should they be defined as walls? Is it possible to have tilted walls in etabs?

Best,

A
