I recently became familiar with these algorithms. I've read a brief study on these algorithm. I want to know more details about them.Is GSO algorithm (Glowworm swarm optimization) differ from Firefly algorithm? what are the main differences?

Tony, I enjoyed that paper immensely. And yet, I think metaheuristics have a part to play.
I obsess over autonomous driving these days. There are problems which might seem quite intractable, such as how autonomously cars can go through a traffic jam while still maintaining course to destination. What kind of sensors would be needed?
The solution might just be to figure out exactly how ants do this sort of thing, without requiring some overly elaborate infrastructure-to-ant communications system, or never mind a central control.
To answer Soheila's question, best I can determine, the firefly algorithm has some features that the glowworm algorithm does not. For example, fireflies of equal brightness move randomly, they don't cluster. And the brightness of a firefly is not only a function of distance, but it can also be proportional to the objective function. Both algorithms are capable of obtaining multiple locally-optimal solutions.
