I'm trying to find a best way for the treatment of an oilfield produced water with a TPH=1024 mg/l by membrane filtration.
What's the more efficient method for the pre-treatment, DAF or centrifugation ? what about coagulation-floculation process ?
Any suggestions please!

DAF will be my choice. DAF appears to be better suited for treating wastewater type effluents from oil refineries, and food & beverage type wastes. DAF pre-treatment is widely used to remove solids, containing Fats, Oil & Grease (FOG) and other hydrophobic pollutants common in wastewater. The addition of diffused air makes the treated water suitable for both re-use applications or direct discharge.
Oily wastewater can be fed into a DAF system where it gets mixed with recirculated clarified water that’s super saturated with dissolved air. As the clarified water mixes with oily or other wastes, microscopic bubbles are formed and attaches to solid particulates and other residues. This process enhances the buoyancy and improve partitioning of low or neutral hydrophobes to the surface in the tank. A skimmer can then gently push hydrophobic and other floating residues toward a discharge hopper. Higher density solids that don’t float will sink to the “V” bottom of the DAF tank where they get concentrated and discharged by automatically controlled pneumatic drain valves.
The DAF process requires little or no chemical addition. Similarly Centrifugation requires no chemical addition but, in my opinion, is better suited for separating higher density suspensions and other colloidal type solids.

I think that centrifugation followed by DAF would be better than coagulation/flocculation.
Centrifugation/DAF is a green method. Coagulation needs chemicals dosage and sludge treatment.
I believe that practical tests will have the last word.
