What's the average ratios for core shell nanoparticles? Is there any classification among core shells (e. g., heavy/light dopings)?

Sometimes a small nucleus within a nanoparticle is claimed to be Core-Shell type nanoparticles (NPs). Is there any boundary between seed-in-a-particle and a very small core sorrounded to a bigger shell. Thickness may vary as well as shape; but is there any general classification?

In my opinion, there is no classification for core-shell NPs, but the core must be well covered by the shell, that's key point. The thickness could be impotant as well but it depends on each application
