With the alarming increase in diabetes and its ocular complication, diabetic retinopathy (DR), I would like to prompt a discussion on the best practices in the control of DR.
Patients with diabetes screening for DR -taken digital photo, followed by soft algorhitm analyses and individualised management for each case -continued monitoring with fundus photos or laser-PRP or local laser -Grid,etc.
Good glycemic control, regular DR screening to diagnose it st the earliest and FFA at baseline may be helpful. Newer technique to detect diabetic neuropathy and retinopathy before the stage of clinical DR would be helpful.
