Apart from Figaro and AppliedSensor gas sensors, any other brands/types of sensor do you use? In what type of application do you use it for and how was its performance?
Currently I am not using any commercial products. In the laboratory, we generate materials and test them for sensing of toxic gases like NO, NO2, CO, propane/propene and NH3 by means of electrochemical-based principle.
Thank you very much. How's the performance of the alphasense sensors? Are they selective, sensitive and easily affected by the surrounding conditions (i.e temperature & humidity)?
Alphasense sensors are are really good devices.
Keep in mind that:
they are electrochemical sensors, so they must work in environments where there is at least 5-10% of oxygen.
To work, they need the presence of humidity.
They have an operational life of about two years, less if used in extreme environments.
Anyway, I've used them for years and taking into account their peculiarities of they work well.
Thank you for the info. May I know, what type of application do you use it for. I looked at the datasheet and realized that the response time is quite slow. Also, how is the response changes with different humidity?
