As the human population continues to grow and as cities around the world continue to expand with inevitable consequences on the environment and more associated issues (water quality, waste management, poverty, food security, availability of services, infrastructure) and more. How to counteract the increasing depopulation of the country side to avoid an eventual collapse of the urban environment?
One of the easiest ways (but difficult to achieve in practice) is the management of humanity globally, in order to contribute to the production and preservation of wealth collectively and in a concerted manner.
Differences and specificities must be set aside to allow real coexistence (symbiosis) of people with their environment.
Surely this will be a dream right now, but it may become a concrete reality someday.
Adequate measures should be put in place to ensure that the environmental impact of various urban activities is adequately mitigated.
Urbanization in its essence isn't necessarily unsustainable. However, at the moment it actually is. The solution would be through sticking to the SDGs and keeping on improving them.
To avoid this collapse, it is necessary to improve the quality of life in the countryside (internet, waste management, poverty, availability of services, infrastructure).
I am afraid the urbanization will need to reach its collapse; I only hope that the reversal will be a gradual transition.

educate and empower the countryside;
some outflow of people to cities is logic as productivity gains in agriculture are closely linked with decrease of labour intensity of agriculture;
so urbanization will continue in many developing countries; the challenge is to make it spatially more even, i.e. more medium sized cities (e.g. 0.5 million inh.) and less unmanageable mega cities (e.g. 10 mllion inh.)
I agree. This requires integrated policies such as spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management.
